As Starlink launches in Kenya, it brings the promise of fast, reliable internet to even the most remote areas. However, with this new connectivity comes a challenge: Starlink’s restrictions on port openings can limit access to critical applications. That’s where Andiva Technologies steps in. Our advanced Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) technology circumvents these limitations, allowing you to securely access your applications and digital resources without the need for open ports. Enjoy the unparalleled freedom and speed that Starlink provides, while we ensure your connections remain secure—no compromises, no barriers.
Challenges with Starlink
While Starlink aims to seamlessly replace your current ISP, it presents some unique challenges. One significant issue is its use of Carrier-Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT), which prevents traditional port forwarding on your router or modem. Since Starlink assigns a private IP address to your terminal rather than a public one, you can’t access your devices directly from the internet. This setup, while enhancing security, limits your ability to use port forwarding for applications that require it. Moreover, opening ports to the internet, even if possible, exposes your local network to potential attack vectors, as malicious actors can scan for vulnerabilities. We overcome these Challenges.
We support the following Protocols:
- HTTP/HTTPS: Supports web applications accessed over HTTP or HTTPS, providing secure, identity-based access to web resources.
- SSH (Secure Shell): Allows secure access to command-line interfaces of remote servers or devices using SSH, often used for administrative tasks.
- RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol): Enables secure remote access to Windows desktops and servers, allowing users to connect to their desktop environments over RDP.
- TCP/UDP-based Applications: Andiva’s ZTNA can be configured to support access to non-web applications that use TCP or UDP protocols, including custom applications, databases, and other services.
